Encounters: Journal of Inter-Cultural Perspectives

Is a biannual refereed journal that seeks to promote a spirit of dialogue and mutual understanding between people of different religions and persuasions. It is no longer possible today to ignore the ‘other’ and live in isolation. The growing encounters of Muslims with Christians in the East and the West, the changes in the geo-political map of the world, the extreme radicalization of religion, as well as the challenges posed by modernity to traditional values, and of revival of religious and moral values to modernity, have wider repercussions and need urgent attention. Encounters aims to provide a forum for meticulous analysis and discussion of these questions and other wider issues incorporating those of inter-religious dialogue, Islam and the West and Islamic resurgence
