Location
The county of Leicestershire, situated in the
East Midlands, gives easy access to many tourist attractions. The River
Soar runs through the county. To the eastern side is the most rural area
littered with many old churches, small market towns and charming villages.
Places of attraction include Belvoir Castle, Burghley House, Stamford,
Rutland Water, Swithland Woods, Beacon Hill and Bradgate Park; all of
them are ideal places for walking. Bradgate Park, only a couple of miles
away, is also a historic deer park. Other interesting places in the county
include Broom Briggs Farm, Nottingham East Midlands Airport, Donnington
Motor Museum and Shardlow Waterways Exhibition. Thornton Reservoir, only
one mile away, may be used for fishing and walking in a woodland setting.
