New Muslims Project

In today’s competitive and sensitive world mankind, through feeling more and more isolated is actively seeking direction, stability and tranquillity in life. As a consequence of this many have found their way to Islam and chosen it as their ‘way of life’. To assist, advise and facilitate the process of self development the New Muslims Project was established to provide support through a range of services which directly meet the needs of those interested in and new to Islam.

Meeting PointMeeting Point
A regular newsletter for those interested in and new to Islam is spiritual, educational and social in content. Through it, the readership is be informed of events and issues beneficial to their needs.

Advice and Counselling
The provision of this service is a very necessary part of the work of the New Muslims Project. Conversion whether it is ‘inward’ or ‘outward’ will almost always be awkward. Consequently it is comforting to have the support and assistance of those with experience of the phenomena to guide others through the transitional stages

Educational and Social Programmes
New Muslims Project - Arabic class Short weekend or occasional week-long family breaks which encompass the spiritual, social and educational dimensions, provide opportunities for individuals and families to come together and discuss experiences thus learning from and supporting each other. Occasions of this nature have also given the Project the opportunity to assist in a variety of practical needs such as matrimonial and family matters.

National Network Volunteers
The volunteer network, having been carefully selected and trained, offer one-to-one support to those new to Islam within their own local area. They are introduced to the Mosque, the Muslim community and its activities into which they will eventually become active members themselves as they grow in confidence and knowledge.

eGroup
The eGroup provides a platform for those new to Islam to discuss a broad spectrum of issues which concern them and are of a spiritual and practical nature. It is a comfortable forum where matters are explored in an effort to arrive at Islamically acceptable conclusions through rational thinking and exploration of Islamic sources.

NMP Website
The purpose of the website is to encourage learning amongst those interested in and new to Islam. It provides gentle but detailed instruction on various aspects of Islam particularly important to them at this transitional time and in a style which reflects a unique British flavour. It also allows visitors to remain at a distance where they may feel more comfortable for a time thus allowing anonymity without isolation.
