The Islamic Foundation is an established organisation that is dedicated to research on issues related to Islam and Muslims, publications, education, community support and inter-faith dialogue. It is seeking a research fellow to contribute to its research on Muslims in Europe and Islamophobia. The Research Fellow will be responsible for the following activities at the Islamic Foundation:
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
a) Contribute to the development of the Islamic Foundation’s research objectives and strategy - setting key strategic objectives relating to long term research plans, including review and development of strategic activities to increase research income levels;
b) Engage in original cross-disciplinary research on social policy issues related to Muslims in Europe – from identifying research themes, formulating research questions, spearheading the design and implementation of research projects, performing rigorous analyses of data, and effectively translating data into insights and robust policy recommendations;
c) Present research work to internal and external stakeholders in research papers, policy briefs, journals, seminars, round table discussions, opinion editorials and Islamic Foundation’s on-line channels;
d) Maintain knowledge of the external funding and commercial context, including available income sources and eligibility criteria by networking, analysis of appropriate literature and liaison with funders (e.g. Research Councils);
e) Establish contacts with the national & international academic community, including external research networks and funding councils, building relationships to increase collaborative working opportunities. This activity will enhance the reputation of the Institute leading to increased income generation opportunities;

The person should hold a PhD in the relevant subject area, have experience in designing and delivering research projects, a strong publication record for the discipline, have strong English communication and analytical skills, with an ability to write in a clear and engaging manner, have excellent organisational skills.
