The Islamic Foundation is horrified by the brutal terrorist attack on the worshipers on the holy day of Friday at the two mosques in New Zealand. Almost 50 have died, including women and children. Many are seriously wounded. This violence is not only abhorrent desecration of places of worship but also the blessed name of Christchurch.
We express our deepest condolences to all those affected and assure the Muslim community in New Zealand of our solidarity. We pray that Allah (swt) accept the deceased as martyrs and give patience and strength to the family members and the community.
Cowardly acts as these, perpetrated by the Islamophobes and far-right extremists are completely against our common faith and human values. We must not allow them to divide us and stand together against all forms of Islamophobia and extremism.
