The islamic foundation welcomed the freelance writer, peace activist, and muslim convert, sister Lauren Booth.
On Friday 29 November 2013, several trustees and colleagues from the islamic foundation attended a fundraising dinner at the memory lane Banqueting hall in Bolton. the event was organised in conjunction with Brothers Yousuf Bhailok, Ahmed Sarodi Patel, Iqbal Soobah Aleef and Yusuf Mitha, and the evening was a great success, with numerous families and guests in attendance.
Kaiciid is the acronym for the King Abdullah Bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Inter-religious and intercultural dialogue, and it was founded in the Austrian capital in 2011. Its objective is the “encouraging of dialogue among followers of different religions and cultures around the world.”
The chairman reflected on the charity’s forty years of services within the muslim community and he commented on its ongoing commitment to research, dialogue, education, training, communication, da‘wah activities and the projection of islam.
Br. Faiyaz was keenly interested in interfaith dialogue and was one the founders of leicester council of faiths and was its president for many years.
Br. Chaudhry Abdul Majid was one of the founding trustees and thus served the foundation for over 40 years. He was born in Sailkot, Pakistan and served in the air force there before coming to the UK.
A delegation of four: Maulana Shahid Raza, Sughra Ahmed, Yusuf al Khoie and Farooq Murad accepted an invitation from the archbishop of Canterbury Rowan Williams to present the Queen with a gift on behalf of Britain’s Muslims.
The islamic foundation organised a fundraising dinner at the waterlily Banqueting hall in London on the evening of 24 February 2012. the event was attended by a large number of guests from all across london, who had the opportunity to find out more about the activities of the foundation and its different departments.
The programme was comprised of a two-day intensive orientation seminar and one day research workshop. it was attended by academics, scholars, practitioners and students from the markfield institute and other academic institutions in the uK as well as students from Trisakti university, Jakarta, Indonesia.
A charity established in UK in 1973, dedicated to research, publishing, education, community support and inter-faith dialogue. Set amidst almost 10 Acres in Markfield, it provides a tranquil environment for studying. The site houses a Masjid, an extensive library, a residential conference centre and a bookshop.
