Establishing and supporting Markfield Institute of Higher Education, 700 plus MA’s and 300 plus Chaplaincy Certificates awarded. Trained 10,000 plus public service staff including staff of Foreign and Commonwealth Office. Developing and running short courses for the youth and Imams.

Building on the Foundation’s involvement with various local and international universities in teaching Islam since 1978, the Foundation established the Markfield Institute of Higher Education (MIHE) in 2000 on its premises. It has since become an independent higher education institute, regulated by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) and supported by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE).

The Markfield Institute is an innovative centre of Islamic learning and research, with its degrees awarded by Newman University and the teaching facilities administered and run by dedicated and qualified professional staff. While it is an separate charity, the Foundation continues to support and collaborate with the MIHE in its research and educational programmes. Appropriate academic credentials and attracts students from many different countries and backgrounds.

As an autonomous academic institution under the supervision of its Academic and International Advisory Boards, consisting of distinguished academics and public figures, the MIHE offers both home and overseas students the opportunity to pursue BA/MA degrees as well as postgraduate Diplomas and Certificates in many areas including Islamic Thought and Sources, Gender and Feminism, Islamic Management Economics and Banking, Islam and the West, Islam and Pluralism, Management of Islamic Centres and Chaplaincy Training.
