Dr Ijaz Gilani, Global Vice-President of Gallup International and Chairman of Gilani Research Foundation, delivered a lecture entitled ‘The Demography and Sociology of World Religions and Faiths in the 21st Century’ on December 17th. He presented his interesting analysis of statistics related to religious beliefs, where questions have arisen around statistical data in this field and where there is a call for further research. He suggested an interfaith approach to study the issues of faith affiliation and loyalty in the context of secular nation-states. The Islamic Foundation agreed to organise a roundtable on this subject.
